The 1st day Hikone city
The start point of the Hokoku road is Toriimoto-cho, Hikone city, Shiga prefecture where medieval trace and atmosphere still remain, and the row-of-houses night-light which makes an image of those days bear remains. The place which got used several kilometers to reference is a location in Hikone Castle (photograph). Hikone Castle is a castle of a few national treasure classes still in the state at the time of erection in Japan.
The 2nd day Nagahama city
It is a castle town of the Nagahama castle which Hideyoshi Hashiba built. In Nagahama city ,the Hokoku road is located on a center,and go toward mostly north. The Hokoku road goes east shore of the Lake Biwa north from here, and continues to Fukui Minamie-chizen-city Imajo. It is being crowded very much with the tourist who visits to an old city now. The trace and atmosphere of medieval and modern times, many row of houses, night-lights, etc. which make an image of those days bear remain, and it can carry out skilled of the time slip.
The 3rd day Kinomoto city
Kinomoto city is an important point of the traffic from the medieval times to modern times. In the neighborhood, the image of those days in which the historic spot of the Hokoku road remains can be remembered.
There are also marks the old headquarters in Kinomoto city which prospered as a stay station which connects Kyoto, Edo, and Hokuriku . It is told that a daimyo's etc. stay did not cease, in age of Edo. The signboard of the photograph had decorated with this Lord of future cost having been the Japanese pharmacist No. 1. The "Ｓｉｚｕｇａｔａｋｅ mountain ancient battlefield" where the Katsuie Shibata contended for the championship with Hideyoshi Hashiba is located in the Kinomoto city neighborhood. In the neighborhood, the historic spot related to The Hokoku road remains.
